My friend Jesse and her husband recently had a baby that was 2lbs 8oz, and she was born at UCONN where Makenzie was and went through a few of the same things that Makenzie did. She is now home and doing well enjoying her 3 other siblings. I wanted to post these to be reminded of everything Makenzie has been through, and look at where she is now. She was half as small as this baby.
Aliyah has the purple goggles on because she was getting light therapy for jondis. (of which Makenzie never had)
Here she is with her mom and dad in the Giraffe isolet. For those of you that came to see Makenzie, you will remember that she was in this same one. They only have one of them at UCONN currently as they are so expensive. It was very comforting for Jesse and Andy have me there as Jesse was there the day I delivered Makenzie and knows everything I went through with her. It also was very nice to see a lot of Makenzie's old nurses and doctor's as surprisingly, come to find out, Makenzie was the smallest surviving baby that they have had leave their hospital.
